The SAFE Fund is an emergency and scholarship support initiative created by Sister Angel Foundation for Education to help women and student parents overcome barriers while pursuing their educational goals.
The purpose of the SAFE Fund is to help reduce barriers that may prevent women from continuing their education and reaching long-term stability and success.
The SAFE Back to School Program is a community initiative created by Sister Angel Foundation for Education to support low-income women, student parents, and children as they prepare for the new school year.
The Back-to-School Program helps ease some of that burden so parents can remain focused on building better futures for themselves and their children through education.
The SAFE Adopt-A-Family Program is a holiday assistance program created to support low-income women, student parents, and their children during the holiday season.
The program is designed to bring joy, hope, and support to families who may be struggling financially while pursuing educational goals.

Our goal is simple: when a woman is working toward a better future, a temporary setback should not become a permanent obstacle.
Back to School
Since 2020, SAFE’s Back-to-School Program has helped student-parent families prepare for a successful school year by providing backpacks and essential school supplies to their children. What began as a small effort to support a handful of families has grown into a program that has distributed more than 2,000 backpacks throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
For many of the mothers we serve, back-to-school season can be one of the most stressful times of the year. While working toward their educational goals, they are often balancing the costs of housing, childcare, transportation, food, and other basic necessities. Purchasing school supplies for their children can create an additional financial burden when families are already doing everything they can to get by.
Through the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners, SAFE helps relieve some of that stress by ensuring children have the tools they need to start the school year with confidence. By investing in children and supporting their parents’ educational journeys, we are helping create stronger families and brighter futures for generations to come.
Adopt-A-Family
Adopt-A-Family Program Since 2020, SAFE’s Adopt-A-Family Program has helped make the holiday season brighter for student-parent families facing financial hardship. Many of the women we serve are working hard to balance college, parenting, employment, and everyday expenses. During the holidays, providing gifts and special experiences for their children can feel out of reach.
Each year, SAFE partners with generous donors, businesses, and community members to “adopt” families by providing holiday gifts, clothing, essential items, and gift cards. Our goal is not only to meet immediate needs but also to remind families that they are seen, valued, and supported by their community. The Adopt-A-Family Program brings joy, hope, and dignity to families during a season that can often be stressful. By supporting parenting students and their children, we help create meaningful holiday memories while encouraging parents to continue pursuing their educational goals and building brighter futures for their families.
